I spent quite a lot of time yesterday working on the Christmas treats but after lots of punching out of various shapes I decided to give myself a break and make a card instead. Initially I looked around some of the challenge blogs and picked out a couple of sketches that I thought I would work with and then delved into my scraps box. As I was going through the scraps I came across the Joeux Noel cut apart from Graphic 45’s 12 Days of Christmas paper range. It’s not until now that I’ve taken a photo of the card that I’m wondering is there a Y missing from the Joeux? My French isn't brilliant so to those who know I’m asking what is the correct spelling? I'm sure when I was at school is was Joyeux.
Anyway I’ve tried to go with the shabby chic and vintage look with this one – apologies for the poor picture quality but the weather outside is frightful yet again. I also didn't go with any sketch in the end and just let the card evolve. I’ve added some extra holly leaves to give more dimension to the card, added some sparkly red gems for the holly berries and added Wink of Stella to the bow and holly leaves but sadly this isn’t really showing up. The pearls I bought from Paperchase but they were more white than cream so I just coloured them with a Promarker to go with the scrap of lace ribbon.
Back to the Christmas treats this evening when I get home from work – lots of stamping and punching to do tonight to get them a step nearer to completion.
