Porthleven

Today we decided to travel the short distance to the most southerly port in Great Britain - Porthleven.  I’d been here once before when our eldest son was doing his work experience at RNAS Culdrose but that was about 15 years ago.  In many ways it hasn’t changed much other than there are quite a few more shops, galleries and eating places than I remember.  This is another place that takes quite a battering in stormy weather – thankfully today all was calm.

It was so calm I was brave enough to go for a paddle in the sea.  It wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be and it was so relaxing walking along the beach which is more pebbly than sandy which made it hard work to walk along.

This boat had just returned and set anchor just outside the main harbour.  I wonder if it had been a successful fishing trip for them.

Today’s photo prompt is the one I was dreading most – Selfie.  When we got back to our holiday home I took Max up on the deck area to take our selfie.

This evening we enjoyed a lovely fish and chip supper from the Paris Hotel.  They have a lovely menu every day of the week and we have eaten there a couple of times this week but earlier in the day we decided we just had to have our fish and chips as a takeaway and eat from the box – well a holiday by the sea wouldn’t be the same if we hadn’t.

Great holiday pictures, Linda, and such a nice selfie. And what would be holidays by the sea without eating fish :).

Lovely photo's, you can't beat fish and chips after day at the sea side.
