Final finish for 2013

I’d like to wish all my followers, family and friends a Very Happy New Year – wishing you all the best for 2014.
I am also happy to report that I have finally finished the teddy bear birth sampler for Savannah.  I will take it to be framed next week and will then put it aside until her 2nd birthday.  I still have lots of WIP’s to work on in 2014 as well as numerous other projects I hope to make a start on too.
Achievements for 2013
Outstanding WIP’s completed 4 out of 17 – not a great number but at least it’s four ticked off the list.  I’ve also had to abandon two of them as I can’t find the patterns so I have 11 long outstanding WIP’s to carry forward into 2014.
New starts in 2013  was 7 and I completed 5 off them so only two to carry forward into 2014.
Total completed for 2013 was 9 out of 24 so if I take away the abandoned projects I have 13 to carry forward.
Total books read in 2013was 14
Knitting projects finished was one out of two.  I never did get to finish the baby blanket (bought the new parents something instead) but I do intend to rectify the mistake I made and finish it this year – I’m sure a new baby will be born that I can give it to some time in the future LOL.
On reflection I think I achieved quite a lot along with my paper crafting projects and I'm looking forward to more stitching, knitting, reading and sewing in 2014.

3 Today

This time three years ago I was sitting in the labour ward with my daughter and her husband eagerly awaiting the arrival of Logan.  We’d already been waiting 17 hours and still had quite a few more to go until Logan finally made an appearance via C-Section.  He was certainly worth the wait though.
Logan has been mad on Humpty Dumpty for ages so when I saw the lovely Mother Goose range of papers from Graphic 45 I knew they would be perfect for his birthday this year.  Probably not most peoples first choice for a birthday card but he loved it when he saw it this morning.  I had great fun working with these papers and Colette loved it too and is going to get a frame for it to go in so it will last beyond his birthday.

Cotehele Christmas Garland

On Wednesday last week I took Mum to Cotehele house to see the gorgeous fresh flower garland that they put up every year for Christmas.  As you walk into the hall where it is put up to hang you can not only see it’s beauty but also smell the lovely fragrances of the hundreds of thousands of flowers that make up this magnificent sight.

We will be putting up our decorations this week but they won’t be a patch on these.

Advent countdown

I am very lucky that one of my SU downline is a whizz with the digi side of SU.  Lucy very kindly sent me this amazing foiled advent calendar using the 25 & Counting Christmas set.  I have yet to get my head round the digi side of Stampin’ Up! and think I will have to meet up with Lucy in the New Year to have some lessons in the hope that maybe I can produce something even half as good as this.  Thank you Lucy X
