Mad Hatter’s Summer Tea Party

was held at Cowslips yesterday.  Jacqueline, Moya, Allie and myself drove down in the gorgeous sunshine and parked in one of the farms fields and walked through their flower/vegetable  garden to spend many enjoyable hours looking at all that was on offer.

In the workshop room there was a fantastic display of quilts using lots of designs with Kaffe Fassets fabrics and designs.  In the barns there were lots of stalls ranging from Cornish willow, cut flowers, organic fabrics, painted furniture, knitting, chocolates, sugared flowers and vintage goods.  There was also an AGA cookery demonstration by Jo Wheatley who was the winner of the Great British bake off, a puppet show for the children and a book signing by Jo Colwill (the owner of Cowslip) for her first book Cushions and Quilts.  I bought her book and another book by Lynette Anderson called It’s Quilting Cats & Dogs out of one of the gift vouchers my dear friends had given me for my birthday.

We’d taken along a picnic to enjoy as we knew the cafe would be extremely busy and incredibly hot inside.  It was lovely to eat out in the bright sunshine, enjoying a variety of foods made and bought with each other, being able to enjoy the lovely views across the countryside looking towards Launceston Castle and being thankful for such fun times that friendships bring.

I also bought a sweet tea cosy knitting pattern from The Wool Sanctuary and a vintage wooden box from Attic Antics which had a lovely Christmas design on that I will use for putting the Christmas sweets in each year from now on.
