Time was slightly against me this weekend so I have opted to just stamp out the image using Momentos black ink pad and not colouring in the image. I think it looks quite stunning as it is, but can you imagine what fun you could have colouring the image in? There are a total of 9 stamps in this set including four lovely sentiments. I've used a combination of CM circle cutters and Nesties to frame the image and then some lovely embossed paper from SU and a few gems from my stash.

I thought I would update you with the progress of our latest grandchild Logan who is 10 weeks old today - can't believe it - the time seems to be flying by. I know I'm biased but he is just adorable and smiling at us now which we managed to capture today when we were lucky enough to have him to ourselves for a few hours.
Just a reminder that Logan was 8lbs 8 1/2oz when born and he is now 12lbs 12oz so doing really well. He looked so smart today dressed up in one of the outfits which we bought him for Christmas which is 3 - 6 months - somehow I don't think he will be in it for very long at this rate.
I also had the pleasure of spending some time with our other two grandchildren Connor and Elisha who I find it hard to believe will be 4 and 2 years old respectively this year! I called in to see them after collecting Logan so the cousins could see each other. Elisha was most interested in Logan and kept stroking his cheek and saying baba - strange as at only 18 months herself I still think of her as a baby even though she is toddling around and getting into everything.

It may seem from the lack of posts on my blog that I've not done much crafting lately - but that isn't the case, it's just a lot of what I have been working on I can't post until next month as it's DT work. I'm doing an SU workshop on Friday evening and tonight I have been making this little gem for a hostess gift by way of thanking her for hosting the event. The idea came from the Sunny Stampin' Projects e-mail that I subscribe to on Andrea Walfords fantastic blog. Trust me it is well worth subscribing to.
I've used one of my favourite sets of DSP's from SU called Newsprint and Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The ribbon roses were made with the retired Bravo Burgandy grosgrain ribbon with an adhesive rhinestone in the centre of each of them. I've also used one of the sentiments from the Tiny Tags stamps set. I think I may be making a few more of these as I really enjoyed putting this together. Thanks for looking.

I've used another of the images I stamped out while I was at Wynneths a couple of weeks ago - this time it is Tanuki Chan - a sweet oriental design from Queen Kats. The background papers are from my stash from a company called Cameo cards - I think I bought them quite a few years ago as part of a kit. I tried to use the colours that were in the background papers to get the colouring of the stamped image - not sure about this one. Love the image, but not so keen on my colouring this time round. I've tried to make it look as if it is mounted onto a scroll and added some gold fibres to the edges of the scroll. Also added some stickles to the fur element of the collar of the robe.

I made the Design Team for the new challenge blog Just Tracys - yippee! The first challenge starts on 1st March so I hope you'll check it out and join in the fun which I am sure there will be plenty of. You can also check out my fellow DT members as they are all listed on my sidebar.

I really enjoyed working with this weeks Twisted Sketch and the twist of distress, anyhow, anyway. It gave me the opportunity to use some of the lovely 7Gypsies papers that inadvertently found their way into a carrier bag for me when I popped into Just Tracy's last week. They are from the gorgeous Victoria paper range and there were also some lovely nature tags and brads to go with them - they slipped in somehow too!

Ian and myself came to a mutual agreement this year that we wouldn't be 'doing' Valentines Day this year (in the past one of us has and the other hasn't leaving the opposite feeling bad) - that doesn't mean we don't care because we do. Having said that I did make this card using the cute Key Critters stamp set from Queen Kat Designs which I would gladly have given to Ian as it is suitably soppy and does convey how I feel about him - even after all these years!!!
I've used just one of the images from the Key Critters set - there are three altogether, but this one fitted perfectly into the centre of the new die tag I bought recently. There are also three lovely sentiments that come with this set and I have stamped out two of the sentiments - You hold the key and Key to my heart, but have cut them down into individual words to make the sentiment I wanted to include on the card. I've coloured the little Critter in using SU ink pads in the same tones as the cardstock and patterned paper. Quite clean and simple again but perfect for Valentines day or again as an anniversary card too.

I've been working lots of early mornings and long days, along with prepping for an SU workshop this evening so my crafting time has been a bit more limited this week than usual. So although I haven't actually got six Christmas cards all assembled today, I have got one completed and all the other elements are ready to either be coloured, trimmed or punched so hopefully tomorrow evening I will get them finished too. Jingle Belles this week had the theme of baby it's cold outside and wanted you to use images of hats, scarves, mittens, etc - while Hazel wanted us to use digi images or papers. I have used one of my favourite Pink Gem Christmas designs as the main image as she is wearing ear muffs and a scarf to keep her warm and I have used some digi papers from Cuddly Buddly. I accidently used Paris Dusk for the sentiment as I wasn't looking properly when I delved into my inks drawer, but as it happens I quite like it!

A few weeks ago I went over to Wynneths house and stamped out several of her Queen Kat design stamps that she has got - this was before I knew I would be joining the Royal Court. Those that know me also know that as well as being addicted to rubber stamps I also like anything mythical or magical and I have had great fun playing with this image called the Come to Me fairy - artist Amy Brown. I've coloured the image in using ProMarkers adding some stickles to the wings to make them sparkle - not sure how well this shows up in the photo. The papers and die cuts are all My Minds Eye Ooh La La range. The pearls are from a retired embellishment set from SU, along with the oval and heart punches (not retired) and the sentiment is from the Key Critters set also by Amy Brown

Yesterday it was our dear friend Karen's birthday and this is the card I sent to her to celebrate the occasion. A big thank you to Annie who while at Westpoint last week had bought this stamp and was showing us at one of our coffee breaks. I just knew it would be the perfect stamp for Karen so I went and bought it before leaving the show. I've created my own background on the base card with some flowers from a couple of Dawn Bibby stamps sets. I cut out the nestie shapes to stamp the camper van onto and then matted it onto cardstock and patterned papers. I've coloured it in using a blender pen and SU ink pads. The sentiments came from January's Little Claire stamp club that I belong to - again just perfect for Karen. I hope it arrived in time and that Karen liked it and had a wonderful birthday.

The sketch for Twisted cards this week was a great one to work with - loved the simplicity of this one. The twist this week is two, anyway, anyhow. I decided to combine working with two of everything in the sketch with the idea of making it a card to celebrate the arrival of twin babies. I've used some gorgeous papers from SU for the main strips and a couple of their stamp sets. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

I've been lucky enough to be asked to join the Queen Kat Designs Royal Court - I am so looking forward to working with their stamps, which I feel are very different from what we can get in this country. I've been getting their monthly Whimsical Ink kit for several months now and they've also brought out another monthly kit which is available to international customers called Myka's monthly kit. They have lots of different designers covering a wide range of tastes - why not check them out for yourself http://katstamps.com/store/ There are new releases each month so always worth going back to.

Here are the entries for the 13th - 15th January - more will follow for those that are interested. The 13th January is all about how I'd had plans to get up early and do various things before heading off into work - unfortunately I overslept! 14th January I broke one of my new year resolutions so it was confession time and finally the 15th January I thought I'd highlight our weekly attempt at winning a fortune on the National Lottery - so far not even a tenner with our own numbers or the lucky dip that MIL buys us each week!
