The Twisted Sketch for this week is below, anyhow, anyway and the added twist this week is glitter. More inspiration can be found here from the Design Team.

I have used a Unity border stamp and a Unity sentiment stamp (one of my favourites). For added dimension I have cut out some of the flowers on the tree and added stickles to make them sparkle. I've also used a couple of the flowers from the SU Simply Said set. Colour scheme this week is using some of the In Colours from SU. Hope you'll join in with the sketch.

Welcome Christmas

I love the traditional feel of this stamp set and decided to keep this card simple by using just black, white and crumb cake. The greeting comes as a complete image, but I have just cut the design in half and added one part to the top and the the other half to the bottom just to show another way of using it. The new rhinestones are gorgeous and are great for that little bit of bling. The background was created using the wreath from the same set.

My first Twisted Sketch DT card

Here is my first card for the Twisted Sketches Card Design Team - I had so much fun playing with this one. The sketch can be found here and the twist this week is Jewel - anyhow, anyway. I've rotated the sketch as I stumbled across this great image in my stash (while looking for something else) and then I remembered I had some stamps that would fit perfectly with the idea that formed in my head. Hope you like it and I hope you'll take part in the sketch too.

It was my dear friend Lisa's birthday yesterday and I decided to give her this card as I knew she would like this style - Happy Birthday Lisa - hoped you enjoyed your time with us!

Approximately 8 weeks to go...

... before our daughter Colette gives birth to her first child and what will be our third grandchild. So that means I need to crack on and try and finish the baby sampler I am doing for them. They decided to find out the sex of the baby so we know it is going to be a little boy. The design is from The World of Cross Stitching magazine and I have completed almost half of it so I will be doing a few stitches each evening from now on so that hopefully all I will have to add is the date he is born. They already picked out his name, but I think I will leave that blank too, just in case there is a change of mind.

Pink and Girly

This card I think meets the criteria for lots of challenges, Cowgirls Sunday Challenge had to be a girly creation using pearls/diamonds/ribbon/lace/feathers anything else girly. Stamptacular Sunday wanted you to use buttons, flowers and the word friend(ship). I've used the sketch from Friday's Sketchers. For the Just add Ink challenge it was to depict feminine, beautiful & proud in honour of breast cancer - needing to use bling and pink (however as I'm entering it for more than 3 challenges I can't enter it for their challenge). Finally a pink and female image for Raise the bar again for breast cancer awareness.

Finally I can share my news....

... I made the card Design Team for Twisted Sketches - yippee! I heard a few days ago, but I was sworn to secrecy until the announcement was made on their blog - I am so looking forward to working with them. I stumbled across their challenge blog and I am so glad I did as their sketches are such a great source of inspiration - hope you'll take a look at the blog and join in the sketches with me each week too.

Two challenges in one - for a change!

I think I can submit this card for two challenges - firstly a very new one to me called Joan's Gardens which you had to use a vertical strip of paper, alter the background card/paper in some way, die cut flower and a swirl. It also fits in nicely with the Cute Card Thursday challenge, which was to create your own embellishments.

Tony, who I work with will be turning 40 on Saturday, he plays golf and loves the meerkat adverts so when I saw Gary the golfing meerkat on Create and Craft I knew it would be just perfect for him (I didn't buy it from them though - went direct to the maker). A very simple LO for this one but I was pleased with the end result as I had to build the scene with all the different stamps - did think about colouring it and layering, but decided to keep it simples! Apologies for the poor photo - I had to take it yesterday evening so that DH could take it into work with him today as Tony is on leave Friday.

Papercraft Star Challenge #16

Papercraft Star Challenge blog. A new challenge blog to me, but one I think I will enjoy taking part in. The beauty of this challenge site is that you can see the challenges in advance so it gives you plenty of time to make a project to enter - how cool is that?

New Stamps & New Papers from the NEW SU catalogue

My idea this time - I will be demonstrating this card during the October workshops. It's going to be one of those cards you either love or hate - for me the jury is still out, but I'm swaying now to the "I quite like it now!" I just wanted to show off some of the lovely new papers from SU - this set probably most people wouldn't use for Christmas - probably sticking to more arty cards. However, when I saw the numbers paper I thought of the twelve days of Christmas and the music paper made me think of Christmas carols. I also wanted to mix contemporary with a bit of artyness and make people think outside the box (something I don't always do either).
